Research Focus

Dr. Ericksen has two primary areas of interest. One line of research is concerned with women's reproductive health over the life cycle. The second line of research focuses on the analysis of gender and culture. Current research, for example, investigates the cultural and behavioral causes of reproductive diseases and infertility. This research is supported by the Rockefeller Foundation and N.I.H. The long term goal is a broad understanding of the major events in a woman's reproductive cycle within a larger cultural context. Dr. Ericksen is the director of the Women's Reproductive Health Research Program and member of APA's Women's Health Advisory Committee.
